#1 Never Crowd Your Pasta

In order for pasta to cook evenly it needs room to move. Crowding pasta in a small pot with not enough water will result in clumpy, sticky, unevenly cooked pasta. 

#2 Gernerously Season Your Pasta Water

Many Italians will say that pasta water should be “as salty as the Mediterranean sea”. Always generously season your pasta water with sea salt, not oil.

Garganelli Pasta with Peas & Prosciutto

Yield: 4 main course servings

Ingredients

    • 1 8oz container ZARA'S Alfredo sauce
    • 100g ZARA'S fresh Basil Pesto
    • 1 500g package of Garganelli pasta (You can also substitute with Penne Rigate or Casarecce pasta.)
    • 3 slices (salami thickness) Prosciutto di Parma cut into short ribbons,
    • 1 cup frozen peas thawed,
    • 1 small sweet onion
    • 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
    • Italian flat leaf parlsey
    • Parmigiano Reggiano to taste, coarsely grated,
    • Sea salt for seasoning your pasta water.
