The mature fruit produced from the caper bush, caper berries are usually pickled and have a soft flesh and often less intense flavour than their smaller counterparts.
On their own caper berries are often eaten in much the same way an olive would be eaten, they make a beautiful addition the most antipasti platters and can be used whole in cocktails.
When used for cooking we do suggest rinsing and draining the berries to remove any excess brine. Capers are well suited to seafood dishes and can be used in condiments or sauces like Putanesca.
Caperberries, water, wine vinegar, salt, spices, antioxidant ascorbic acid.
